Establishing Context
Local people told me, “You can find old objects by searching the ground.”
After walking around for half an hour, I found a gravestone fragment in the nearby forest.
In this type of work, I always search for fragments or small details in the environment. By collecting these elements, I aim to create new, deeper meanings and explore their significance.
I placed the gravestone, a symbol of human memory, alongside what I call natural memories, such as branches and pinecones. By combining these elements, I aim to highlight the connection between human-made and natural memories.
A network of threads keeps the gravestone and the natural objects together. The threads cannot fully grasp the branches, symbolizing the struggle to keep memories intact.
